Aloysius's 26th Birthday (Part I)

I find planning for birthdays a joy instead of a chore. It may get a little tough during the planning phase, but the joy comes when at the end of the day, you look back at the outcome of what you've been planning, it's definitely worth it ;)

The first trick of this all, would be to book him first! I accomplished this a month in advance ;) Afterwhich the plan was whether to have it personal or with a bunch of friends! I struggled with this for a bit... Then I decided to do a surprise dinner with our classmates. The icing on the cupcake was having Gerrard's presence!! He barely attends our class gatherings so I'm uber grateful he finally graced one of the event, especially something I've planned!

Next was deciding on the venue. I picked Fullhouse Cafe, situated at Rendezvous Hotel. I've seen and heard all sorts of raves regarding the cafe! The concept and interior design of the cafe was what attracted me to finalize on it. I made a reservation of 20 Pax on Thursday, for dinner on Friday! Thankfully the manager was kind enough to accommodate my last minute request (phew). Similarly to last year, I lied, yet again but halfway through it got exposed. The last straw was when I muffled to the receptionist the reservation code & he replied "Table for 20 Pax right?" I failed, yet again. (Pouts in disguise)

Before he was aware of the surprise I had in line for him ;)

Unexpectedly, we were the earliest to arrive!! (Which was unplanned) We spent our free-time idling around... anxiously waiting for his surprise to appear. It was definitely a hilarious bittersweet moment. Due to our large group, we were seated at the function room, covered up with four walls, a pity that we could not immerse our dining in the beautifully decorated space. The food variety was limited but I managed to order a dish which I thought was one of the tastiest ;) Most of us happened to order the same dish too!
Balloons by Majesta & Nic!
Wok-Sear Chicken Chop ;)

After dinner, Majesta & I managed to take some time to explore the concept room that was nearest to us! I thought that the concept was heading to Victorian Style. The class started to come in and we decided to do group shots!

Thank you & thank you to each and every one of you again, for being so spontaneous despite the last minute notice! And thank you, for allowing me to be part of your birthday for third year, planning it for the 3rd time with the class ;)

OCT Random Musings

I decided to have a Random Musing post every month! It'll sum up the bits and pieces of the days I've failed to update!

Basking in the glory of the sun

First day of the last week of holidays, saw myself heading towards Sentosa! I've not been visiting Sentosa to tan for years!! I remember going down with Claire frequently to tan when I was still in Year One. Glad that there wasn't much people around & we managed to score a private space at a corner! My favorite corner spot was fenced up for renovation though ;(

The sun was too much to withhold!! We only tanned for an hour odd & it was incredibly humid. Perspiration couldn't stop dripping down the face! The "Game of Life" card game which I bought for tanning, it was a pain to play in the huge glory sun.

New pool concept playground for the kids
This card is nothing, compared to the board game.

We decided to take the afternoon off & head down to Resorts World for Lunch after our bathe! There's just something about visiting Sentosa that is mesmerizing!

Astons Specialities; Portion was really generous!!

Tuition Kakis

Arranged & finalized the meet up with my primary school tuition kakis on the last week of holiday! It seems like we're always planning at the beginning of our holidays but yet it will only occur at the end of the holidays! Tried Samurai Burger for the first time & I find the beef rather juicy & filled with a generous amount of sauce! It's extremely filling.

Debbie never fails to crack me up with her nonsensical actions. She's one of the funniest person I've ever known!!

I really appreciate keeping in touch with my tuition mates & tutor! They're truly memories to hold onto ;) Glad my mom brought me over for tuition even though I was reluctant to have to travel few streets over to her place at 830am in the morning since primary two!! The good old times...

Myself, Tutor, Debbie, Yi Luan

Best Childhood Friend<3

Finally, my busy childhood friend, Dionne was able to spare some time for catchup! We've not seen each other since I've got back from China in April.. Poor girl is stationed at NTU's hostel on weekdays so she only comes home on weekends, makes it even harder for her to make time out for me! We live merely a few streets away so we decided to make do with Mcds Breakfast!! I couldn't decide if I wanted the pancakes or muffins more so I had the Breakfast Deluxe, the best of both worlds, which kept me full till dinner.

Impromptu decision to head down to Town! We went over to my house first, initially to get changed! But I got rather lazy so we just spent the afternoon catching up, doing whats-not in my room ;) Had the best time with you D, till the next time we see each other again ;)

Bowling

Last weekend before Internship commence, I went down for a bowling session with Aloy & his sibling/cousins!! His aunt had complimentary tickets so they invited me along ;) I've not bowled for eons & I must say, I was very much ashamed of my skills. WHERE WERE THE SKILLS I'VE AT WHILE I WAS YOUNG?! We played two rounds it lasted close to 3hours cause there were 8 of us together on a lane. Given that fact, I was unable to regain my skills while practicing. On the other hand, Aloy who hasn't played bowling before, well, beat every each and one of us, hands down.

With this, I conclude; I hate sports & they hate me, seems like a fair trade.

Top scorer on a row!!
I dropped to the second last upon round 2;'(

Date with Aloy

Oven Love

This lover boy is truly one of the sweetest gift ever! He never fails to express his love for me in all kinds of way. He isn't the kind of guy who express himself easily but when he do, he does it big!

Ever since I've started to bake at Majesta's place, I was determined to save up to get an oven! During the last Sept school break, I started to save up in hope of getting one! Aloy then decided to surprise me and got me an oven from the Courts deal! Truth to be told, I was so touched ;*) On a Sunday, he thoughtfully accompanied me to collect the oven at Courts main building situated at Tampines, after his long day of work!

In the midst of the journey there, he told me this: "Actually... I'm not sure if it's an oven (instead of microwave oven)..." I stared at him, with my eyes opened big. This is Aloysius for u, being all excited until he becomes careless! Behold, when we got there & received the box, it states "MICROWAVE OVEN". I couldn't stop laughing at his silliness!

We settled down for dinner at IKEA & he had to lug the heavy box for me along!! Dinner at IKEA Tampines wasn't very satisfying! Shall just stick to their meatballs as it wins hands down<3

It was definitely a day filled with joy, laughter & lots of love from him. Thank you & thank you.

Thai Express

It has become a norm to dine with Aloy at Thai Express! The last Friday before internship commence, after our briefing, we had dinner at Clementi! They set up a tad too late because we're never going back to school already! We used to have to travel from Clementi - Town for Thai Express! Btw, the service at Thai Express is soooo good!! The manager was such a fun & loving assistance to us ;)

Aloy is a true blue Tom Yum Soup fan as well so I'm the constant, as change is the only constant. But you've to admit, the Tom Yum Soup gets pretty tempting so I order it once in a while. Aloy finishes his all the time so we couldn't very much share a bowl of soup!

Banana Milkshake goodness!

Filled the last bit of our tum space with our fav Yami Yoghurt<3

Eighteen Chefs

"We wish to spread Benny’s story of experience, strength and hope to inspire troubled youths and people with conviction backgrounds to find alternative positive ways to reintegrate back into society.

We have worked with other social agencies both locally and regionally to help create this awareness and to provide a platform for these group of people to realize their talents in the Food & Beverage industry.

By providing them with a safe and non-judgmental working environment, we believe that we are giving them a chance to also work on their recovery through this unity of bond, which will eventually allow them to find a better and happier path in life."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The initiate plan was to head together with Val but she couldn't make it so it was left with the both of us #TGIF! We missed you Val!! We finalized on heading down to try the Cake in a Jar concept!! But we decided to have dinner first & with reliable HGW app we decided to tryout Eighteen Chefs!

I vaguely remember reading about my friends' dining at this restaurant. While doing some research online, I came across the verse quoted as above, that opportunities are offered towards troubled youths as well as ex-convicts, what a social-friendly restaurant ;) They've a students special meal that lasts for the entire day! It comes together with a Drink (Ice Lemon Tea), Main Course (Baked Pasta/Rice with your choice of sauce) & Scoop of Ice-cream.

The baked pasta wasn't to my liking.. I think I should sway away from ordering Baked pasta/rice! Never seem to like them! The brim was filled with baked cheese & I picked Creamy as my sauce base, which I wouldn't recommend!!

We also ordered their signature dish, Cheesy Bolognaise Fries! The fries were extremely filling! Gen had baked rice & she couldn't have any more fries so you shouldn't order fries if you're having a hearty meal! I find that it is on par with Carl's Junior Beef Bolognaise Fries as well ;)

Cheesy Bolognaise Fries! $7.50
Creamy Baked Pasta with Mushroom Set Meal, $6.40

I was slightly disappointed with the food but I would probably go back again to try other dishes! ;) But there's many thumbs-up review I've read online, so you should still head down to try if you haven't! By the time our tummy was filled with carbo... We wanted to take the bus down to Grin Affair but thankfully I checked & it was already closed!! We spent the remaining night walking around Plaza, since it has been a good 3-years since I've been there!

Looking forward to the next food adventure ;)

Queenstown Famous Curry Chicken

It definitely lives up to its name. I love curry chicken!! I was known as Curry Girl/Curry Queen back in primary school because I had the 30cents/50cents curry almost daily for recess!! Committed to the relationship between Curry & potatoes...

$3 Portion!
Sooo good it deserves a 2nd picture!

There're two stalls though! Both claims to be the famous curry chicken! Majesta brought me once to Stall B which has a long stretch of benches along each other! (Think it's the one nearer to the entrance of Queensway) But I wasn't convinced :/

The rightful one!!

This time round Gen brought me back to Stall A! I've only tried their Laksa back in Secondary school so I didn't know that their curry tastes like heaven!! So goood I ordered even though I've had lunch/dinner on both occasions I went. Yup both occasions with Gen, to change the surprise water bottle I intended to purchase for Aloy!! Thank you for the company<3 (Secretly craving for the curry again!!)

Dean & DeLuca

When news of Dean & DeLuca's outlet in Singapore surfaced, I was beyond excited!! I loveee the concept of the interior & surroundings! After several months, I finally made time & effort to dine there, along with Gen & Val. It's amazing how they're always up for trying new concept eateries along with me, blessed ;)

We ordered two mains to share! I read online that they serve rather big portions so it's better to share unless you're a big eater ;) It was slightly packed inside at the restaurant, so we picked the seats that were lined on the outside! Not as squeezy, cramped & we've more breathing space ;)

Portobello Burger!
American's Breakfast (If I remembered correctly)

Our tums were pretty filled with the sumptuous dinner so no one wanted desert except for me! Even after walking around town aimlessly trying to fight away the urge, my mind was filled with the idea of desert.. Dragged them along to the nearest kiosk for some simple heartland desert ;D

Love the smashing denim jacket<3
